I've got mixed feelings about this.

The Han Solo movie, or Solo: A Star Wars Story, is less than four months away from hitting cinemas, although a lot of moviegoers would be forgiven for thinking it was coming out in December, or even forgetting that it's a thing that's happening at all.

It was announced back in July 2015 that Lucasfilm were making a Han Solo anthology movie, to be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and written by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan. A year later, Hail, Caesar!'s Alden Ehrenreich had been cast as the beloved smuggler, beating out competition from the likes of Jack Reynor and Taron Egerton. But just a year after that, the project was in disarray.

All had seemed to be running smoothly, but then Lord and Miller were fired, major reshoots were ordered, and there's been very little talk about the film itself, with Lucasfilm's focus instead trained on the release of The Last Jedi. The movie is still coming in May, and with a film filled with talent but besieged by behind-the-scenes problems, there are as many reasons to be worried as there are excited.
