Hanks & Howard confirmed for Angels & Demons

By Matt Holmes /

Just days after rumors started floating around the web that Tom Hanks had been offered "the biggest salary ever for a Hollywood actor" to reprise his role as Robert Langdon for Angels & Demons... The Hollywood Reporter are confirming the actor is indeed in talks. Ron Howard is also in negotiations to return to helm his second Dan Brown novel adaptation. The news of both Howard and Hanks returning has been expected since Da Vinci's huge box office opening last year. Sources at Sony are keeping quiet on how much the actor has truly been offered for the part. Shooting is set for January, with casting under-way for the other roles in the flick. One reader of this site mentioned the other day that when online writers were talking about this follow-up to The Da Vinci Code, they were mentioning the project as a sequel when in fact the book is a prequel. I think the reason for that is because many of us probably believe that the movie won't have any continuity what-so-ever to The Da Vinci Code movie and will instead be more of a stand-alone flick. Kinda like how The Temple of Doom is a prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark... but it's probably mentioned more as a sequel or stand-alone flick when it's discussed. source - coming soon, the hollywood reporter
