Happy Feet - Critics Reviews

By Matt Holmes /

Happy Feet is released in the U.S. this weekend and apparentaly it's not just about a penguin dancing for 90 minutes. The Australian produced and George Miller directed animated feature is based on the premise that every penguin find it's soul mate by singing a unique and loving song! Here are the critics reviews... "Tuneful and soulful in equal measure, this animated all-penguin musical is terrific fun." - Kirk Honeycutt - The Hollywood Reporter "Ably combining the magic of Walt Disney with Pixar's lush visuals and DreamWorks' hipness ... the finest animated film in decades, but also an amazing achievement in film storytelling". Edward Douglas - Comingsoon.net "Happy Feet dances up a storm, but instead of smiles, Miller's cloudy creation will surely elicit blank stares from duped parents and head-spinning confusion from little kids". - Brian Orndorf - DVDtalk.com "There are dozens of charming moments, but the story is simply too thin to carry the movie's 87-minute running time". - Dan Lybarger - Efilmcritic.com "The film is weighed down by a clunky narrative, but Feet is better than an animated romp starring singing, dancing penguins has any right to be". - Ethan Alter - Premiere Magazine The movie is currently scoring a 79% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive 73 out of 92 reviews coming back positive. Most reviewers are praising the CGI animation, calling it the most impressive of the year but ultimatley although the film is fun in places, it's rather shallow on the whole. Happy Feet is released in the U.K on 8th December. source - rotten tomatoes
