Harry Potter: 10 Weird Rules A Student At Hogwarts Must Follow

10. Students Cannot Enter The Forbidden Forest Unless They Have Detention

The weirdest thing about this rule is that it's completely acceptable, up to a point.

If there's a dangerous area surrounding the school, which forbids entrance in its name, then it's not unreasonable to ask the students to stay away from it. Although blocking off an area can be seen as an invasion of the pupils' freedom, they'd likely prefer a bit of protection over being eaten by giant spiders.

Still, what makes this rule absurd is that there is an acceptance to it in the form of detention students. It seems that although this was one of the only crimes mentioned by Dumbledore in his welcoming speech, it doesn't apply to those who've misbehaved.

Viewers got to be direct witnesses to this after Draco, Neville and Harry were taken into the forbidden forest with Hagrid due to their getting detention. What's worse is that the faculty know the danger of the place, but don't seem to care if it means punishment for the misbehaving students.

You may have thought your school was strict, but did they send you into a monster-infested forest for a minor grievance?
