Harry Potter: 12 Wands That Perfectly Reflect Their Owners

12. Ron Weasley

Ron's wand (in fact the only existing one that makes sense in being redesigned in the film, as a scene from the book explains him buying his own new wand after his brother's hand-me-down is finally broken completely at the end of the previous story) is simple and looks almost hand-carved from wood.

Despite the fact that almost all British wands are bought from Ollivander's shop and seem to be of similar price, and the fact that this wand is meant to be new, the rather battered and worn design helps to reflect his family's overstretched budget. It suits the content of every other prop in every corner seen of The Burrow, the over-crowded and ramshackle Weasley family home.

There is also a distinctly earthy aspect to the design that matches Ron's overall look and wardrobe. It's simple and somehow pure, a total contrast to some of the ostentatious examples that we'll look at elsewhere in this list. It's hard to imagine a wand that would suit him better.
