5. Xenophilius Lovegood – Betrayed Harry, Ron And Hermione

Xenophilius did not take to Voldemort’s new regime and voiced his opinions in his own magazine known as The Quibbler. In response, the corrupt Ministry punished Xenophilius by capturing Luna and imprisoning her inside Malfoy Manor.

As such, when Harry, Ron and Hermione arrived at the Lovegood’s home, Xenophilius took the opportunity to try and win back his daughter. He promptly sent a letter to the Ministry and informed them about who was inside his house whilst simultaneously doing his utmost to keep his guests from leaving.

Though Xenophilius had a perfectly understandable motive, his decision to betray our heroes was still incredibly foolish. Luna would have been distraught at the idea of her father betraying her friends, and the Death Eaters would probably have kept her captive no matter what Xenophilius offered them.
