Hilary Duff in new BONNIE AND CLYDE movie!
Variety say Hilary Duff will star as Bonnie Parker in a new adaptation of BONNIE & CLYDE which we are told "won't be a remake". Young American actor Kevin Zegers will play Warren Beatty's classic part of Clyde Barrow. Beatty and Faye Dunaway were Oscar nominated for their roles in the 1967 original, as was the picture itself. Natalie Canerday and Rance Howard, two names I can't even be bothered to look up will also star. Setup at Indie company Cypress Moon Studios, THE STORY OF BONNIE & CLYDE will be directed by Tonya S. Holly, who got the idea when she found old newspaper clippings and articles of the famous bank robbers in her home. She previously directed WHEN IN FIND THE OCEAN, a 2006 drama currently ranked at 3.6 on IMDB. The movie will film in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama soon. WORST IDEA OF 2009 SO FAR. Boy it's gonna be a long year of this kind of misguided projects, especially when you hear about some of the great movies currently without a deal at Sundance. Not wanting to crap on this project from the get-go but if this doesn't make it to my theatre, I won't shed a tear.
