Hilary Swank is the female Aviator

Swank to star in a biopic of Amelia Earhart, the first women to fly solo across the Atlantic but then mysteriously disappeared!

Million Dollar Baby, I don't think I would be stretching the truth by saying she needs to fire her agent. The Black Dahlia (although a few others got burned there too), Freedom Writers, THE REAPING!!! This is Hilary Swank, a fine dramatic actress capable of absolutely stellar performances. Just what in the world was she thinking when she was leading that shitty horror movie? How did she wind up on the set of it anyway? With the absolutely dreadful looking P.S. I Love You on the horizon and then the comedy flick Laws of Motion, it's safe to say that she is need of a dramatic role to get her back in the swing of things. This could be it... The NY Post report that Swank will star as Amelia Earhart, the aviation pioneer who was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean and would later scribe best selling books about her flying experiences and did much to open doors for women in the aviation business. Her life and achievements are well documented on her WIKI page which you can read here but I'm going to spoil the juicy bits about anyway. Second and final warning, SPOILERS AHEAD... During a flight across the Pacific Ocean where Earhart was attempting to circumnavigate across the globe in 1937, she mysteriously disappeared, never to be seen again. Two years later she was filed as legally dead, though her body has never been recovered and the true fate of Earhart has been up for debate for many years.

Whatever happened to her, I doubt the film will have a cheerful ending. The resemblance between the two is pretty remarkable and finally Swank will have lead a movie that we might actually make the trip to go and see. In another busy day of movie news, I couldn't let this story get lost in the shuffle. This could be great... imagine if someone like Martin Scorsese were to come on board this....
