The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug - 10 Cameos We Would Have Preferred Over Legolas

8. King Of The Dead

Every film needs a good ghost. That was a really creepy, powerful sequence in the Return of the King, when Aragorn strides into the evil mountain and demands allegiance from the army of ghost traitors as payment for deserting so many years before - they fight for their honor and are released from their hell of being the living dead. There was the one ghost cameo in the first Hobbit. Since Bilbo is not ambling close to Dwimorberg, the haunted mountain, in the official adventure, let's hope the Necromancer summons up a few for us - it has been a while since I read the book and I can't recall if there are any official ghosts or not! Also: beards don't look as annoying when they have a greenish tinge. Maybe Bilbo could encounter a platoon of lost ghosts in another cave on his journey - for good or for worse.
