20 Upcoming Movies That Have Already WON
These films have got everything right.
If Hollywood has consistently proven anything over the years, it's that we truly don't know how a movie is going to turn out until it's actually released and we're finally all watching it for ourselves.
After all, films regularly fall far short of lofty expectations, and on the opposite end of the spectrum, movies with literal anti-hype can end up delivering above and beyond what anyone could have reasonably anticipated.
But having said that, more movies than not do release in line with sensible expectations - that is to say, you can probably trust your gut most of the time on whether a film is going to be good or bad.
And while, again, it isn't over until the film is out and has had its day in court, these 20 upcoming movies have clearly already won by virtue of what we know about them.
Perhaps a brilliant director is attached, maybe the casting is perfect, or the marketing suggests an absolute can't-miss banger in the making.
Whatever the reason, these upcoming films all seem to be absolutely bulletproof - until proven otherwise, anyway...
20. Highlander
A Highlander reboot has been in the works in some form for the better part of 20 years, but after innumerable stalled attempts to get it going, a new Highlander movie has finally been shot, and it honestly sounds like a best-case scenario.
First and foremost, it's being directed by Chad Stahelski, best known for helming every mainline John Wick film, and it goes without saying that Stahelski's virtually peerless approach to brutal, balletic action will serve him incredibly well in the world of Highlander.
And then there's the cast.
Henry Cavill has been cast in the role of protagonist Connor MacLeod, and will be joined by the likes of Russell Crowe, Marisa Abela, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, and Jeremy Irons.
Considering how little love the Highlander franchise has been shown since the original movie, it's basically impossible for Stahelski's film to be anything less than second-best - and there's a very good chance it dethrones the 1986 original with this much talent behind it.
