15. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse

It's incredibly easy to have faith in the upcoming Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse considering the brilliance that the first two movies served up, and while it's a shame that the sequel will be arriving a few years later than expected, good things will surely come of it.

Indeed, Beyond the Spider-Verse was originally slated to bow in March 2024, just nine months after the release of Across the Spider-Verse, but that was evidently wildly unrealistic considering the hyper-complex animation involved, and so the sequel will now finally release next June.

A four-year wait to resolve Across the Spider-Verse's tantalising cliffhanger ending is undeniably agonising, but there's no reason not to assume that all this time has been spent incredibly wisely to deliver both a satisfying climax to the trilogy and another highly innovative animation showcase.

If the filmmaking team can land this plane, they'll have delivered one of cinema's all-time great trilogies.
