Indiana Jones & The Dial Of Destiny Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs
A not-bad, not-great conclusion to the Indiana Jones franchise.
The day is finally here - some 15 years after the Indiana Jones franchise apparently wrapped up with the wildly polarising Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, everybody's favourite whip-cracking adventurer is back for one final, definitely final go-around.
Even many hardcore Indiana Jones fans groaned the moment that Disney confirmed a fifth film was in the works, and after years of delays, The Dial of Destiny is out now in cinemas worldwide. But does it give Indy a fittingly fond farewell or not?
Ultimately The Dial of Destiny isn't as good as you'll be hoping for though also far from the disaster those early Cannes reviews painted it as.
It's a middle-of-the-road adventure film that gives Indy a satisfying enough send-off even if it's still a far, far cry from the brilliance of Steven Spielberg's original trilogy.
Indeed, it won't tarnish anyone's memories of the better films in the series, and likely won't be nearly as controversial as the last movie, but you also couldn't be blamed for wishing that this belated epilogue to Indy's story was a little more interesting and entertaining.
And so with that in mind, here's what The Dial of Destiny gets wrong...
