Although all the rumours and announcements for this third Spidey film seem as though it will be a very congested affair, an appearance from Mephisto would be intriguing. It would present the opportunity to establish another higher power in the MCU and create a major threat to this universe and others.
Mephisto's role in the MCU would be similar to that of Thanos, keeping a watchful eye over everything that happens across the multiverse. It seems more likely than ever that we may be about to see a multiverse-spanning villain, especially with the apparent connections between WandaVision, the next Spider-Man film and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
A villain that not only brings together current heroes but also presents the potential for the multiverse to introduce more characters in an attempt to foil his plans, Mephisto seems to be the logical choice for the next, over-arching villain in the MCU.
