It's back on!!! JUSTICE LEAGUE released next year.

A combination of bad planning, a loss of potential projects to other studios, the writers strike and no faith in a Superman Returns sequel has led Warner Bros. to push heavily for the Justice League film to restart production in the next couple of weeks. Variety say that WB want a summer tentpole for 2009 to add to the current slate which only includes Watchmen in March and Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins in May. The writers are making drastic last minute changes and are polishing the script right now, with all the original actors (Brody, Hammer, Cotrona, etc.) told to keep training for their parts.

The big decision to push the film seems to have come last week when they lost out in the bidding war to Sony for Roland Emmerich's new "end of the world scenario" with2012. They have no Potter next year. No other superhero movie. They need cash and if it means rushing this then so be it. Is that any way to run a studio? Could bite them in the ass in the years to come when they can't get team-up movies, or stand-alone flicks off the ground when the better run outfit Marvel enjoy success after success with their characters. So Justice League: Mortal (we think) due out next year with the high school cast, Common and a guy from Mad Max thrown in their for good measure. Could be a train wreck.
