Jackie Chan is Mr. Miyagi in THE KARATE KID remake
The most obvious, laziest and probably the worst casting of 2009 has already taken place. Variety say Jackie Chan, whose name use to be mean something to Western audiences, will play Mr. Miyagi in the new KARATE KID remake being produced by Will Smith and starring his son Jaden Smith in the title role. Just another paycheck for Chan. The original role was made famous by the late Pat Morita, who won an Academy Award nomination for his portrayl of the martial arts mentor.
