So much for retirement...

Remember all that awkwardness about Daniel Craig saying he'd literally rather violently open his veins than play James Bond again? Imagine a world where he said that and then might play the character again anyway.

That's the crazy world we're living in, because the blonde pouting bombshell is now rumoured - by Page Six - to be favourite to continue as Bond against expectations. He won't be joined by Sam Mendes, who is definitely out of the franchise, but a new report says that producer Barbara Broccoli has “just about persuaded Daniel Craig to do one more Bond movie”.

Persuasion means big stakes and a big reason to come back. You'd probably like that to be narrative rather than financial...

Page Six say they're citing "multiple sources" for the rumour, and they suggest that with Craig's appearance on Broadway in Othello now done, the talks are "going in the right direction". Additionally, the studio must really want Craig, as they're apparently holding back on production until "Daniel is ready to commit”.

Presumably, we'll find out soon enough if this is true, as it can't be long before we get some concrete news on who is directing the film and who gets the plum role.
