One element of Lazenby's performance that is consistently praised is his physical stature and his believability in the fight scenes. This is apparent from the moonlight beach fight at the beginning as well as the brawl in Tracy's room between Bond and one of Tracy's men. As Fleming envisioned him, Bond is a blunt instrument- he doesn't have gadgets to help him out, which was the situation in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, a film which is faithful to Fleming's novel and was an attempt by the Bond producers to bring the series back down to earth. If the series went down the route of not having as many gadgets (which is unlikely), Lazenby would've worked as a Bond who can get his hands dirty and be believable in a brawl.
