Im really making friends here, arent I? Yes, it had the best Henchman of all, and Daniela Bianchi is very sexy, if nothing more, but bar that its actually very boring. I was actually starting to drift off within the last half an hour- and it was the middle of the afternoon! But I appreciate that this is more of a serious espionage thriller, and features Bond as I know and love him, to a certain extent. As with Scaramanga, Robert Shaws Red Grant carries practically the entire movie. Again, its generally pretty forgettable to Joe Public. Everyone knows the Union Jack parachute, Goldfingers laser, Blofelds Volcanic base this has a sourfaced Russian lesbian with knife shoes pulled off better by Heath Ledgers Joker, and a swarm of rats in the Venetian sewer. And thats it. So whilst I may not like this film much, I appreciate it is a very good film, one of the better bond films in fact, but its just not my cup of tea. Although I am a big fan of Bonds gadget-packed briefcase. Im not a mn of Matt Munros dull-as-sin opening title. Its not good, its not bondy, its Matt Munro.
