Artist: A-HaFilm: The Living DaylightsI dont like A-Ha, but I love this song. From the intro (thankfully, John Barry won out after coming to blows with Morten Harket et al and produced this more Bondian recording). This is something very different to the Bond tunes were used to, but works in its own right. And like the best Bond tunes, the instrumentals are wonderfully incorporated into elements of the actual film score.
3. Live and Let Die
Artist: Paul McCartney & WingsFilm: Live and Let DieLike A-Ha and Duran Duran, I really dont like Paul McCartneys work at all. Apart from this, because its just amazing. It worked so well. Its interesting that every Bond from Moore onwards has been introduced musically in a bold, daring manner. This is the best of the lot, in my opinion. The lyrics are a bit bizarre and the bits where McCartney actually sings are a bit awkward, but its not enough to criticise a bloody brilliant song.
