Back in 2010, when Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that Sam Raimi's 4th Spider-Man film was being put on indefinite hold, fans expected to have to wait a few years to see the web-slinging hero back on the big screen. But Sony had other ideas. Very swiftly after the initial news of a halt on Spider-Man 4 had broken, Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios announced that rather than continue the Raimi's saga, they were rebooting the series with a brand new cast and crew. Released last summer, "The Amazing Spider-Man" was a huge success, earning a worldwide gross of $750 million dollars. Not bad for a movie that was basically a glorified re-telling of Sam Raimi's original, starring Tobey Mc Guire and Kirsten Dunst. While "The Amazing Spider-Man was positively received (mostly) by movie-goers, some unimpressed fans failed to see why the reboot had decided to re-tread so much territory covered by Sam Raimi's earlier trilogy. One of those unimpressed fans also happened to star as Harry Osborn in the first trilogy and according to MTV, he won't be rushing to watch the sequel. Here's what he had to say to about the reboot and the decision to re-cast his character for The Amazing Spider-Man 2:
"They could've strayed a little bit more from the original. It's like... why. Guess they made a lot of money. OK, congrats. But good for them. Sam and I moved on, we made Oz,".
So does he have a point? Or is Franco still sour about Sony's decision to cut production on Sam Raimi's fourth movie?
