But it sadly won't make the final cut.

After a couple months tinkering with the final cut of his latest opus, Quentin Tarantino has finally locked in the theatrical version, which was shown off for the first time on Monday night. Though spoilers have been kept tightly under wraps, one tidbit has made its way onto the internet: James Marsden's role, which was announced back in 2018, has been cut from the final film.

While we knew Marsden was on board for a while now, who exactly he was playing was never officially stated, but it's now been revealed that he was set to portray iconic movie star Burt Reynolds. It mustn't have been a huge role - and Reynolds himself was actually cast for a role in the flick before his death - but it still would have been cool to see nonetheless, especially in a movie crammed full of fictional versions of 60s Hollywood stars.

Marsden probably won't take the omission too personally, as Tarantino has cut plenty of material and roles out of his epics throughout the years, and if anything it might make for a killer extended edition - or even TV mini-series cut - further down the line.
