Despite the news that Warner Bros are pushing ahead with a Joker origin movie - possibly to be produced by Martin Scorsese - Jared Leto isn't going anywhere. He's still going to be the mainline DCEU Joker for at least another two movies, apparently.

With rumours of a possible Joker/Harley Quinn spin-off (which would hopefully deal with the major issues their dynamic struggled with in Suicide Squad), Deadline's report on the Joker origin specifically mentions that Leto “will reprise in the Suicide Squad sequel and the Harley Quinn spinoff.”

That Joker plan for the Suicide Squad sequel must be pretty firm, since the film doesn't even have a director yet, despite lots of rumours. And it seems to fly in the face of Leto himself refusing to confirm that he'd be in those movies at all as recently as a month ago.

And while Leto's performance as the Joker was divisive, it was definitely interesting and there were a lot of interesting ideas in there. It just happens that he was badly edited out of the movie, he was badly directed and the rudderlessness really badly showed.

Let's hope that his two future appearances are a lot better.
