Johansson has The Spirit & finds He's Just Not That Into You!
Scarlett Johansson is to mesmerize Matt again on the big screen as she has just signed up to play the femme fatale in Frank Miller's adaptation of The Spirit!!! Wow, I'm not sure which gets me excited more... the thought of Johansson in a Frank Miller period movie or those Batman images above. Actually I do... it's the Batman images. Women come second when it involves The Dark Knight! Scarlett was born to be in this sort of movie. She, much like I said last week about Carla Gugino (who concidentially I was just about to write a feature campaigning for her to be cast in this role) has that timeless mid-20th century movie look, where you just keeping thinking to yourself, she wasn't meant to be born in this era. Women don't look like her these days. The Spirit is really coming together now then. We have our lead in Gabriel Macht who will be donning the mask and we believe the villain will be played by Samuel L. Jackson and now we hear Johansson is the woman figure. Love that cast and production is set to begin in October for a 2009 release. Thanks to Slash Film for the very cool comparison photo below.

Further news from the article in The Hollywood Reporter is that Johansson has become the latest actress to sign up to that comedy He's Just Not That Into You. We only spoke about this movie yesterday when Jennifer Aniston joined the already impressive cast that included Jennifer Connelly. Johansson will be playing the same role as she in Match Point, where she plays 'the other woman' who is desperate for the guy she is having an affair with to leave his wife. Seriously, the movie sounds like it will be dumb as hell but they have put together a really great cast which must have cost them a fortune. They seriously think they have a hit on their hands there.
