Shining in a film with a cast that boasts the likes of Philip Seymour Hoffman, Benicio Del Toro and James Gandolfini isn't easy, but not even these heavyweights can be to blame for Cusack falling flat in this role. In this grit pic of sorts, Cusack plays real life Philly dweller, Joey Coyle, who one day stumbles across $1.2 million in the street. Thus ensues a crime caper that never quite knows if it is a serious flick or light-hearted comedy. Uneven tone aside, the baby-faced Cusack is about as suitable to play an out of work longshoreman as Jason Statham is to star as David Beckham in a sporting biopic. On The Waterfront this was not.
