And while John absolutely must die at the end, considering the richness of this world, it would be a huge mistake to close the door on it entirely. There are so many more stories that could be told here, even including other characters we've met throughout the series (especially Laurence Fishburne's Bowery King and Lance Reddick's Continental concierge, Charon).

There's so much potential here to build a Continental franchise with different, branching stories. Sure, they won't all be up to this high standard, but given the clear affection fans have for the flavourful criminal underworld depicted within, there's a lot of room for expansion even without Keanu Reeves' involvement.

A Hollywood spin-off audiences actually want? Imagine that.
