Jonathan Nolan follows Bale from Batman to TERMINATOR?
More Con stuff. Does anyone else feel like they are missing out on a great party right now? I'm stuck in my room in an unusually warm weekend here in Britain, literally sweating my ass off and turning into liquid - forcing myself to write about stuff that is happening thousands of miles away - when all I wanna do is lie outside in the sun.

But I can't NOT talk about Terminator Salvation and what went down at the Con... Possibly the biggest news to come out of the panel, was that the latest draft of the script was written by Jonathan Nolan, that evil genius who it's believed wrote the majority of The Dark Knight, had a big hand in scribing The Prestige and wrote the original short story which his brother Chris adapted into Memento. It certainly makes sense for Warner Bros. to go for him. He is likely to end up with a Best Screenplay nom for The Dark Knight - a movie which has just delivered a unrivalled amount of money for the same studio. It was a no brainer - though worryingly after Paul Haggis and before him Michael Ferris and John D. Brancato - that script has had many cooks all with their own agenda's right now. Not usually a good sign. Director McG confirmed he is under no studio pressure to deliver a PG-13 rating. Ive been given their blessing to make the pictureand if its a rated R picture, then thats that. His intention is to make a "war" picture and not a "sci-fi" flick, because the world currently lives with "sci-fi" all around us.The movie will be set in 2018 and as we have said before, the first movie in the franchise to be completely set after the events of Judgment Day. Which I have to say, is kind of MEGA exciting. Skynet, T-600's (less advanced versions of the T-800's, Arnie character in 1) and Skynet will make an appearance. The visual style McG was shooting for was Children of Men, which has certainly been commented several times by people from viewing the trailer. He again cites Batman Begins with the overall accomplishment he wants to do to the franchise. The film will end on a cliffhanger, setting up the second arc of the new trilogy. source - aicn, /film
