In Real Life: Stegosaurus is an animal that most viewers would have been able to identify without much trouble. The big dino with plates on its back and spikes on its tail is a figure in natural history museums all over the world, and it was expected that one of these strict herbivores would make it into a Jurassic Park film. With a disproportionately small brain, this species doesnt have much more than size to pose a threat to aggressors. In The Films: Stegosaurus makes an early appearance in The Lost World when a family unit of the massive creatures encounters Ian Malcolm and the rest of his team as they explore Isla Sorna. The two adults, adolescent, and baby manage to portray a sense of mingled beauty and power as they dwarf the awestruck scientists. MVP Moment: Sarah Harding (aka Miss Were Here To Observe And Not Interact) touches a baby Stegosaurus and learns firsthand just how dangerous big dumb herbivores can be when their offspring are distressed. Sarah is only a few feet away from being skewered through the abdomen and becoming the first onscreen death of The Lost World. Confirmed Kills: 0 - although Sarah dying would have saved a lot of lives overall
