For my money, the best action sequence to have graced the series so far is in the Lost World. I'm talking, of course, about the trailer-suspended-over-the-cliff sequence, which definitely ranks up there as one of best set-pieces Spielberg has ever done. The tension keeps racking up and up and up, until there's a character lying at the bottom of an upside down trailer on a pane of glass that starts - you guessed it - cracking. Holy hell, goodbye nerves! Aside from that moment of nail-biting genius, Jurassic Park is surprisingly lacking from in seriously brilliant or innovative set-pieces. The original has so many memorable moments that it hardly matters, I suppose, but this third sequel opens up a whole realm of possibilities to craft some genuinely exciting and mesmerizing action scenes.
