8. The Return Of Superman

We know he's coming back thanks to that press release from the department of the bleeding obvious we were served at the end of Batman V Superman.

If the levitating dirt on Supes' coffin was too subtle for you, Alfred Pennyworth is clearly addressing him at the end of the latest Justice League trailer.

From the look of things, Superman's inevitable return is being saved for the final act, with the Last Son of Krypton likely to arrive just in time to turn the tide of battle.

Justice League will introduce us to a world where his absence is felt, a world without hope which is vulnerable to threats such as Steppenwolf and his Parademons.

Interestingly, a number of fans on sites like Twitter and Reddit have tipped Supes to return from the grave as a villain, under the control of Steppenwolf.

This could potentially explain his absence in any of the trailers so far, but it seems like an outlandish claim now that the meeting with Alfred has been teased.

Would the movie really have the time to assemble the Justice League, reintroduce Superman as a villain for the them to face off against, and then redeem him just in time for the final battle? We're not so sure.
