16. The Genesis Of Parademons
Interestingly, the trailer seems to confirm that the DCEU is using the New 52 backstory of the parademons. Rather than simply being aliens loyal to Darkseid, the New 52 mythology establishes that the Parademon hordes are made up of "remolded lifeforms" or the processed corpses of Darkseid's enemies. In other words, they're transformed zombie-types.
And that's exactly what appears to be happening to this poor soul in the trailer, who starts out as an ancient man and appears to "die" and become a Parademon (the ashy skin and sharpened teeth are a dead giveaway.
Hopefully, the fact that we saw the same idea in Suicide Squad won't dilute from it too much.
The trailer then shows some more shots of the first attack on Earth, as Diana is seemingly reminded of those past horrors...
