JUSTICE LEAGUE is MORTAL. New title & Martian Manhunter cast...

Now that the strike is over, it would seem the JUSTICE LEAGUE film is officially back on and will probably begin production quite soon. I kinda figured as much the other week when none of the stars of the picture were announced as finding any other work since they were let go from their contracts. According to a report in The Sunday Morning Herald, it's claimed JUSTICE LEAGUE MORTAL (probably with a : in), the $200 million superhero team-up movie at Warner Bros. will now shift production to Canada because of problems the film is facing with the Feds in Australia who want a 40% rebate on the project. The article goes on to mention that the JUSTICE LEAGUE film is back on but in a "precarious" position because of the change of location. The site also goes to say that this guy is in the film. AICN deduce and are quite probably correct that the actor will be Martian Manhunter in the film...

Hugh Keays-Bryne is his name. The Indian born but British character actor is quite a big name in Australia but apart from appearing in Farscape and George Miller's own 1979 movie MAD MAX, you won't know who he is. Really surprisingly, he is north of 60 which completely goes against any of the other casting in the picture. I mean he's nearly three times older than Anton Yelchin who was supposedly cast as Aqua Man. I mean hell, finally they have cast a real MAN in the picture but have they maybe gone too far here? I would just love them to re-cast the whole film at this point and put older men in this movie. Men of real stature. Pay whatever it takes to get Christian Bale on board, get Brandon Routh (which seems such an easy choice, I can't believe they aren't) or if as rumored you aren't going to use the characters of Batman and Superman then fair play to you... cast a great Green Lantern and The Flash and you could be onto a winner here. So JUSTICE LEAGUE: MORTAL seems to be the new name and the movie is back on. The script is possibly being re-tweaked without it's two core characters right now and I would expect all the men and women who were originally cast to be back on board. What do we think now about this $200 million picture. Have we changed our mind on it since it was scrapped? Do we want to see this? Are we happy that they have cast someone older in the film? Are we happy to see this project without Batman and Superman? What about the project's new name?
