After the recent surge in popularity of the comic book movie genre, Warner Brothers are said to be fast tracking a Justice League of America movie for the big screen. Kieran and Michele Mulroney have been hired to write the script. The Justice League is of course a core team of DC comics superheroes who work together to fight the biggest super villain teams in the universe. The big players of the Justice League are always Batman, Superman, Wonder Women, Aquaman, The Flash and The Green Lantern. Warner Brothers president Jeff Robinov said this... "The Justice League of America has been a perennial favorite for generations of fans, and we believe their appeal to film audiences will be as strong and diverse as the characters themselves" That's all well and good but there are of course a lot of hurdles for this project, not least the fact that we currently already have Christian Bale as Batman along with Christopher Nolan working well as director. We too, already have Brandon Routh as Superman along with Bryan Singer seemingly comfortable in his position too. Not to mention of course that Wonder Women and The Flash are also set to receive their own movie in a couple of years time. I mean, can you really see Christian Bale wanting to star in the same movie as Wonder Woman????? IMO, the only way this could work is if you cast the League as young actors and do a little more lighthearted than the typical Batman or Superman movie. Even then, I think there timing is way off on this. We are just getting settled with the return of the Batman and Superman franchises and the whole DC universe. 10 years down the line when we have more stories from these characters on screen it could have worked..... but not now. source - variety, coming soon
