Justice League Vs. The Avengers: Which Is Better?
3. Female Characters
One of the most talked-about aspects of superhero movies these days is the rather disappointing lack of quality roles given to women, especially considering the huge well of female superheroes at Marvel Studios' and Warner Bros.' disposal.
The Avengers at least gives Black Widow a fairly prominent role in the group and explores her troubled past in some depth, though Maria Hill and Pepper Potts take decidedly backseat roles.
Justice League continues to ride the wave with Wonder Woman, who is easily one of the film's highlights, while the likes of Martha Kent, Hippolyta and Mera get a few memorable moments each, even if Amy Adams' Lois Lane feels thoroughly wasted.
Winner: Wonder Woman is such a force of nature in Justice League, and represents by far the best frontline female superhero in comic book movie history. That Marvel has released almost 20 movies and not one of them has been female-led is pretty embarrassing. A progressive tick for DC it is, then.
