Kate Winslet is working with James Cameron for the first time in 20 years, having signed on for a starring role in the Avatar sequels.

Winslet previously starred in Cameron's Titanic, which was the highest-grossing movie of all time until Cameron himself knocked it off the top spot with Avatar in 2009. Of the casting, Cameron said (via Deadline):

"Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career. I can’t wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life.”

It's unknown at this stage who or what Ronal is - though you'd expect it to be a very substantial role if Winslet is taking it on - and we'll have to wait a while to find out. Production may have recently started on the movies (all FOUR of them), but we won't be seeing them for a few years yet. Avatar 2 will be along in December 2020, with the following sequels hitting in 2021, 2024, and finally 2025.

Winslet joins most of the original cast, including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Scott Lang, along with a number of new, younger faces, as the story focuses on Jake, Neytiri, and their children.
