As per Illuminardi, the John Wick star has been offered to take the titular role in a film simply titled 'Kraven'. At this point in time, the picture is being pegged as a cross between Denzel Washington’s Man on Fire and the utterly stunning Logan.

There has been talk of bringing the Kraven character to big-screen life for years now, with him at one point planned to tussle with Andrew Garfield’s take on ol’ Web-head before The Amazing Spider-Man franchise was axed after just two outings. Plans for a solo film for Kraven took a huge step forward last August, when Triple Frontier writer/director J.C. Chandor was brought in to direct the offering – and now it appears that ‘Kraven’ is close to landing its headline act.

Ever since Sony Pictures kickstarted their shared Spider-Verse of movies with Venom, numerous other Spider-flicks have found themselves in various stages of development as this universe continues to be fleshed out. Not only are Venom 2 and the Jared Leto-starring Morbius on the way later this year, but Sony is also at work on solo films for the likes of Spider-Woman, Black Cat, Silver Sable, Jackpot, Nightwatch, Silk, Madame Web and even possibly Aunt May.

For those not all that familiar with Kraven the Hunter, a creation of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, he made his comic book bow all the way back in 1964’s The Amazing Spider-Man #15 – marking him out as one of Spidey’s oldest villains. The biggest of big game hunters, Sergei Kravinoff has enhanced instincts, immense physical attributes and is a master tracker who can locate anyone or any thing.
