Back in early 2013, Smith first talked up a third movie for Brian O’Halloran’s Dante and Jeff Anderson’s Randal – only for the project to not get off the ground. Again, Smith suggested last year that Clerks III was on the way – only for the project to not get off the ground.

Now though, ahead of the release of Jay & Silent Reboot arriving this month, Smith has once more got the wheels in motion for Clerks III.

According to Kevin, it was a recent meeting with Anderson that helped him to decide to make Clerks III a reality.

Clerks is the movie that put Kevin Smith on the movie map, with his 1994 comedy about a day in the life of two store clerks winning a whole host of praise and getting Smith a fan base that are still with him to this day.

After that ’94 movie, fans were soon given Clerks: The Animates Series before eventually getting Clerks II in 2006.
