Kevin Smith's CLERKS III will be on Broadway?

Jay and Silent Bob may return. As for now, they're taking it easy.

"Jay and Silent Bob may return. As for now, they're taking it easy€... These are the words that were read after the credits had rolled on Clerks II - a sequel to Director/Writer Kevin Smith's 1994 breakthrough Clerks. And it seems as though the next time we will see the dope-dealing duo will be on a Broadway stage. Since confirming that his next film (Hit Somebody) will be his last film as Writer/Director, Smith has been concentrating his efforts on smaller projects - such as a very popular series of Podcasts and helping to get TV reality show Comic Book Men off the ground - and it was during the launch of his new book that he spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his plan to bring Clerks III to the stage. Smith goes into a surprising amount of detail for a project that was only conceived a couple of mere months ago. In this brief interview he reveals that Clerks II's Elias (Trevor Fehrman) will feature prominently, and that it's "Randal's turn to fall in love". Speaking on how the show would work:
I€™ll make it as painless as I can: a six month run that culminates with a one-night performance we broadcast into movie theatres ... So ultimately, anyone who can€™t make it to Broadway to see the show can go to the movie theatre the night we stream the production and see if for like 20 bucks. The hardest part for me won€™t be making it happen; the hardest part at this point, for me, will be standing on a stage for two hours and not talking.
Whilst I think most would like to have seen this as a full feature production, I think the idea is hugely original and could be a big success (if it comes to fruition, that is...) What do you guys think of Smith's plans? Leave your thoughts below...
