2. The Final Battle Is Disappointingly Generic

Warner Bros.

There is a lot of fun action in this film, but the climactic battle between Arthur and Vortigern? Not so much.

Ritchie ends up deferring to an over-the-top, dull CGI design for Vortigern's "final form", and though the subsequent battle has clearly had a ton of cash poured into it, it both looks and feels like the underwhelming final boss fight in a video game.

The sheer absurdity of the fight gives it a few points, but compared to much of the film's other action, it's oddly charmless and lacking in excitement, especially with Law being reduced to an anonymous digital creation.
