6. Daniel Craig & Ana De Armas Steal The Show
Though Knives Out is an ensemble movie through and through, there are two performers who end up rising above the pack, and that's Daniel Craig and Ana de Armas.
Craig, whose rare forays into comedy - especially Logan Lucky - have largely struck rich, is magnificent as the southern-accented detective desperately trying to piece together the tattered fragments of the case.
His performance is just campy enough without taking things too far, ridiculous accent and all, and while it'd be a leap to call the performance Oscar-worthy, would a Golden Globe nomination really be that ridiculous?
Elsewhere de Armas gets most of the film's dramatic meat as Harlan Thrombey's carer and confidante Marta.
The on-the-rise actress has to work through a wide spectrum of emotions over the course of the movie and delivers what's surely her best performance to date in the process.
Craig and de Armas actually spend much of the movie paired together, and the results are gold both comedically and dramatically.
