LAKEVIEW TERRACE trailer

Why living next door to Samuel L. Jackson could be a pain.

By Matt Holmes /

I had mildly high hopes for Lakeview Terrace, the movie that would feature a single father cop Samuel L. Jackson who for seemingly no other reason than a case of racism... terroiries his new neighbours, an inter-racial couple and tries to push them out of leaving town.

Jackson was of course perfectly cast and once the originally on board Ashton Kutcher was replaced by Patrick Wilson - my hopes were peaked even more.

Well the trailer has hit today and it's not brilliant. Feels terribly chopped together (we should be reminded that the film is directed by Neil Labute of The Wicker Man remake infamy) and it reminds me of The Whole Ten Yards - a black comedy.

It's no where near subtle, creepy or intense as I thought it would be. There's no moments of suspense or build up like Disturbia and from the very beginning it would seem that they know Jackson is out to get them.

Are the L.A. fires going to be used as a sub-plot here too or just some background fodder?

Thoughts on this one? Looks like a Z-Grade version of Disturbia which itself was a B-Grade of Rear Window!
