If the casting directors want to attach some immense star power to this picture, they need to look no further than Robert Downey Jr. Since accepting the role of Tony Stark/Iron Man, the man has been a powerhouse at the box office, especially with Iron Man 3, which was the top grossing movie of 2013. With Tony Stark and Sherlock Holmes having been the only roles we've seen Downey Jr. in lately, seeing him in a new project will pique people's interest, even more so when that project is The Last of Us. Ditching the cockiness that he brings to the two aforementioned roles for the more grounded, intense, ruthless traits of Joel would be a great treat for moviegoers to witness. Furthermore, he would most likely have great chemistry with whoever they pick for Ellie because, whether or not there is any drama behind the scenes, he and his co-stars have always had amazing chemistry with each other.
