Legit Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Script Ended Up For Sale On EBay
Director J.J. Abrams explains how one of the film's few full scripts ended up listed online.
It’s less than a month until audiences return to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but director J.J. Abrams has now revealed that a legitimate script for the movie at one point ended up on eBay.
There were only a handful of finished scripts produced, and these scripts were printed on a paper that was impossible to copy. Yet that didn’t stop one of the film’s stars from accidentally losing their particular script.
Speaking on Good Morning America, Abrams explained that an unnamed Rise of Skywalker actor left their script under their bed for a cleaner to pick up. Before you can say “May the Force be with you”, that script was listed on eBay.
Being the eagle-eyed sorts that they are, a Disney employee saw the script for sale on eBay and was able to get hold of it before it sold. And with that one move, that employee stopped all of The Rise of Skywalker’s secrets and revelations from being leaked out to the online world.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is in cinemas worldwide from December 19th.
