6. The BEAUTIFUL Animation
Something surely everybody can agree upon is that Lightyear is a stunning film from a purely aesthetic perspective.
Despite its boilerplate story, Pixar's animation team has done a characteristically phenomenal job across the board, from the eye-wateringly photoreal landscapes and spaceships to the more stylised character designs.
The moment-to-moment animation is fantastic throughout, ensuring that even in its weakest scripted moments, Lightyear is at least a real looker and certainly something worth checking out on the big screen if you don't want to wait 45-ish days for the Disney+ drop.
Armed with a stonking $200 million budget, Pixar at least ensured to capture the thrill of spaceflight and exploring uncharted space from a visual standpoint.
