3. James Mangold's Excellent Direction

There's no doubting that first-time director Tim Miller did a stellar job on Deadpool, but his work can't really compare to the efforts of veteran filmmaker James Mangold.

Yes, Logan and Deadpool are very different movies tonally and stylistically, but Mangold's handle on both action and drama is clearly stronger as one would expect.

Miller certainly has a bright future in Hollywood (and he's planning to take the reins on the next Terminator movie), but he's up against a guy who's been directing for over two decades, and the difference in experience and discipline is extremely abundant.
