Logan: 7 Ways It Sets Up A Sequel

7. Mr Sinister

After X-Men: Apocalypse dropped a couple of major hints towards the character, it was expected that Mr Sinister would turn up in Logan, uncovered as the shadowy figure behind it all.

Alas no such reveal was forthcoming, with Ricard E. Grant's Dr Rice the overarching villain, and given the tone of the movie you can see why Sinister was left out (something director James Mangold did clear up before release).

Still, you'd expect those hints have to go somewhere, and since Mr Sinister didn't appear in Logan it means he is (probably) out there somewhere. EssexCorp may not have been the company behind cloning here, unless Alkali Transgien is a diversion from the bigger name behind it (which admittedly seems unlikely), but given what happened in Apocalypse it should be turning up somewhere, meaning there's a good chance we'll see both Mr Sinister and more mutant clones.
