1. The Heist Is Undeniably Contrived

Granted, heist films are typically quite contrived, and Soderbergh's no stranger to over-the-top capers with his work on the Ocean's movies, but still, the central heist here is propelled forward by confidence just a little too much.

There are a couple of beats central to the heist that rely far too much on dumb luck, and while the overall sequence is undeniably a blast to watch, it is undermined slightly by how much one's disbelief must be suspended.

Again, though, it's a caper and doesn't need to be totally realistic, but a few overly convenient moments do upset the balance a little too much.

Still, Logan Lucky is for the most part a thoroughly entertaining film, so here's everything Soderbergh got right...
