2. Some Consider It Oscar-Worthy

"Logan is the first superhero movie since The Dark Knight to have a strong chance of being considered among the contenders for Best Picture come Oscar time in early-2018." - Forbes

Though it's extremely premature to start calling 2018's Oscars, Forbes led the charge in believing that Logan could follow a similar trend to Mad Max: Fury Road and be a rare bonafide blockbuster to end up scoring a ton of Oscar nominations.

With so much strong acclaim for its direction, screenplay, acting, cinematography, editing and other technical aspects, it's definitely possible, though it depends on how much the graphic violence and superhero movie stigma might put older Oscar voters off.

If nothing else, it's a fascinating conversation to be having, even though Logan releasing so early in the year puts it at a distinct disadvantage with the notorious short-term memories of Oscar voters.
