Mark Wahlberg & David O.Russell's 4th Movie Together Is Likely To Be...

By Matt Holmes /

Earlier this year it was looking likely that versatile director David O. Russell and his muse Mark Wahlberg's fourth collaboration together would be an adaptation of the popular PS3 video game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Fanboys were excited, even those who hadn't played the game were digging the idea of an Indiana Jones style adventure movie directed by such an accomplished filmmaker. Sadly things have changed. Vulture reports that it may be a different film that follows in the footsteps of their excellent Three Kings, the troubled I Heart Huckabees and their undisputed high point, the multiple Oscar nominated The Fighter. O.Russell has attached Wahlberg to star in his long-in-the-making adaptation of Matthew Quick's novel The Silver-Lining Playbook which has been in development at The Weinstein Company since 2008 and which now appears to be the helmer's next. Wahlberg would play former high school history teacher Pat Peoples who upon being released from a four year slog in a mental institution, moves back in with his mother and attempts to make a means with his ex-wife. Interestingly, Pat thinks he has only been away from home for a few months, not years. Back in Decemeber, Anne Hathaway was being talked about for the ex-wife role in the movie where The Hangover's Bradley Cooper would play Pat Peoples, but with Wahlberg's latest attachment things have clearly moved on. It's been suggested that because Wahlberg has shown interest and is now officially on board, the dozen other films O. Russell has been linked with making will be pushed aside and it's this one that will film.
