While transporting Zandow - who had been discovered unconscious with the Stark tech by Agents Sousa and Kresminski thanks to Peggy's beating and an anonymous tip by Jarvis - back to the station in Time and Tide, Kresminski's car was hit from behind by another car.

As he got out to deal with the driver, he was shot and killed, along with Zandow, by a mysterious assassin that would later be revealed as Dottie Underwood, giving everyone at the SSR even more motivation to hunt harder for Howard Stark.
