Marvel Phase Two Movie Concept Art Revealed!

By Noel Thorne /

In less than a month, Iron Man 3 will kick off Marvel€™s Phase Two round of movies which will include Thor: The Dark World (on November 8th), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (on April 4th, 2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy (in August 2014), culminating in The Avengers 2 (May 1st 2015). Today, Geek Zenith revealed concept art behind the forthcoming Phase Two movies. The first image is above as we see our first look at Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), the titular Winter Soldier, squaring off against Cap (Chris Evans). Next up is the image below. This Prometheus-looking piece is from Thor: The Dark World and looks to fulfil Marvel's promise that Thor is headed into a more cosmic direction. This next one looks to be the revamped ship Icarus, home to the Guardians of the Galaxy. And the final painting shows the Guardians of the Galaxy sat around a table in a Mos Eisley Cantina-type bar, echoing the first issue of the relaunched Guardians of the Galaxy comic which came out last Wednesday, which opens in a similar alien bar setting. The blue girl might be Gamora (though she's green in the comics - maybe this is to draw in the Avatar crowd?), Rocket Raccoon is, well, the raccoon, the grumpy tough guy with the tattoos is Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), the tree creature is Groot, and to Groot's left is Peter Quill aka Star Lord (Chris Pratt). The art shows Guardians to be moving away from the kind of superhero movie we're used to and heading into Star Wars territory - and doesn't it look amazing?
